Mon Thet, who is obsessed with roses, was born on 1st February 1963. He graduated from State School of Fine Arts (Yangon) and Yangon University majoring in Myanmar literature.He studied under U Thu Kha, U Mya Aye, U Kyaw Hlaing, Dr. U Lun Gywe. He used to be an instructor and also the principal of State School of Fine Arts, Yangon. He resigned from his teaching career to be a full-time artist. He participated in many art exhibitions and art workshops and art projects all over the world. He got 5 Solo shows held in Myanmar. He won the Honoured Artist Award of CLMTV & CN Contemporary Art Awards 2022, Mahasarakham University, Thailand, as well as honourable mention of Myanmar ASEAN Art Awards 2002 (Myanmar) and honourable mention of Myanmar Portrait Contest 2010. His works are collected in the National Museum of Myanmar, Ya Ming Art Gallery and many more.
The Sea Art Gallery is now proudly going to present Artist Mon Thet in his new series of paintings in which the beauty of girls and roses are combined together creating a significant attraction into the hearts of those who appreciate his artworks. His gorgeously unique combinations of artwork are on exhibition from May 12 to May 16 as planned.
However, according to the weather forecast that alerts about Cyclone MOCHA during May 12-13 in Yangon, for the sake of safety, we will keep updating about the exhibition although we will be displaying all the artworks starting from May 12 to Junel 7 in the Sea Art Gallery.
